Delaware All-State Senior Choir is open by audition to any 9th-12th grade public, private or parochial student in the State of Delaware who participates in his or her school choir. For students to be eligible, the teacher/director of the qualifying ensemble must be a member of DMEA. Every year approximately 500 students audition for the mixed choir and treble choir, and between 200-250 students are selected to participate. A guest conductor is brought in to work with the students and a concert is given following two days of intense rehearsal. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet students from other schools, learn about what other choirs in the state are doing and work with a guest conductor who will no doubt bring another perspective to the choral art.

All State Chorus will be held Thursday, Feb 22, and Friday, Feb 23 2024 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM and Saturday, Feb 24, 2023 9:00 -4:00 PM. (4:00 PM Concert at Cape Henlopen!)

Students should learn the vocal part they wish to audition for. They will prepare the entire song for the audition. Students will sing their voice part with a track containing the vocal parts excluding the voice part they are auditioning for. The audition tracks are labeled “Audition”, and the ones labeled “Practice” are for the student to rehearse with on their own. Please use the “Audition” tracks for the video of the audition.

Students will be assessed on (0-5 points possible for each section):
Tone, Dynamics, Pitch Accuracy, Phrasing, Rhythmic Accuracy, Diction

Student Checklist:

• Complete Signature Page and give to your director. 
• Make a SUBMITTABLE account.
• Submit All-State Application in SUBMITTABLE by the deadline.
• Submit the audition video by the deadline. 
• Pencil in “ALL-STATE CHORUS” on your calendar for Feb. 23, 24, 25, 2023.
