Students from 7-12th grade are welcome to attend the fourth annual Festival for Treble Voices! We invite choir directors across the state of Delaware to nominate excited and deserving young women to take part in this full day festival, which will take place at the Amy E. duPont Music Building at the University of Delaware! Students will work with Dr. Duane Cottrell, Associate Professor of Choral Music Education at the University of Delaware throughout the day and conclude with a concert, featuring: The Delaware Women’s Chorus The University of Delaware University Singers The Sussex Technical High School Women's Choir Our clinician for the festival will be Dr. Duane Cottrell, professor of music education at the University of Delaware. The University Singers from University of Delaware, along with the Delaware Women’s Choir, and a high school Women’s Choir will perform alongside your singers at the closing festival concert. This promises to be a day filled with phenomenal and enriching musical experiences for your students. A snap shot of the schedule is as follows: 9:00am: Registration 10:00am-12:30- Rehearsals with Dr. Cottrell 12:30-1:30- Student provided lunch and socializing 1:30-5:00- Rehearsals with Dr. Cottrell 5:00-6:15- ACDA provided dinner, socializing, and changing 6:15-6:30- Warm-up 6:30- Concert begins with HS Women’s Choir, Delaware Women’s Chorus, University Singers and Festival Choir 8:00- Parents take you home after the concert at UD. There is NO RETURN BUS TO CARAVEL! |
