Private Music Lessons

Private lesson instruction is available on and off campus from various instructors. Private lesson slots fill up very quickly however, you can feel free to contact the teachers below to inquire about availability. 
DISCLAIMER
Please note that in order to take private lessons, you will need to pay weekly lesson fees and will additionally need to purchase books and have the instrument of choice available at home for your child to practice. Students are required to practice the skills learned during lessons at home. For young children, we recommend parents to sit and encourage their children during their at home practice. Children develop into stronger musicians when parents take an active interest in their musical skills. If you find it to be a weekly argument to have your child practice at home or do not have the time to dedicate to at home practice, private lessons may not be the right fit at this particular time. Private teachers want music learning to be a fun and positive experience,  not just a chore!

Ms. Bailey is a graduate of New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and is an accomplished pianist, accompanist and vocalist. She teaches piano and voice lessons. She offers 30 minute lessons, $30 per half hour. She also offers a 34 lesson package for $100 a month from September through May. She does not teach on campus but teachers at her home in Porter Square (off of Porter Road).

Mrs. Jan Marcozzi- Piano

Mrs. Jan Marcozzi is a Music Educator, Choral Director and accomplished piano accompanist. She is currently retired and works as a full time piano instructor and also accompanies some of the choirs at Caravel Academy. 'Ms. Jan' currently teaches many CA students. She does not teach on campus but teaches at her home in Caravel Farms and also travels to give lessons at her student's homes.

Ms. Sarah Boone-Voice/Piano

Ms. Boone is a graduate of Westminster Choir College. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 2020 and with her Master’s Degree in Music Education May 2021. Ms. Boone has experience teaching both voice, piano, and clarinet lessons.

Lessons for voice, piano, and clarinet are available this school year at Caravel Academy on Thursdays from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm.

Mrs. Anderson is a music teacher, choir director, accompanist, and teaches private piano lessons. Mrs. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a piano concentration from University of Delaware and a Master of Education degree from Wilmington University. She has over 11 years of classroom teaching experience, 3 of which were at Caravel.
Mrs. Anderson teaches Tuesdays out of her home in Bear and Wednesdays after school at Caravel. Limited spaces available. $30/half hour

School of Rock in Hockessin is proud to offer music classes to help teach our community how to play instruments with skill and confidence.
