High School Chorus meets five times per week as an elective class. Students will learn to sing music of different styles, genres, and languages. Students will learn the fundamentals of reading music. Student will continue to learn about proper vocal technique. throughout the course of the semester in addition, students will learn about the history of choral music, music theory and discuss many current events and issues effecting choral/ music programs nation-wide. Students in this class will perform 1-3 songs at our Winter and Spring Upper School Fine Arts Festival. Concert attendance is required to receive a final grade. This is a non-competitive/performing group therefor, students enrolled in this class are not able to attend competitions unless they are also enrolled in Men’s, Women’s or Elite Ensemble . Students must get the written permission of the Director to participate in higher level choral ensembles.
