Each year our choir and bands travel to various competitions in the spring. Our High School Bands and Elite, Women and Men's Choirs have traveled the east coast, competing at Six Flags New England, Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Washington, DC, and Walt Disney World. These annual competitions not only reinforce musical concepts being taught in rehearsals but they also create a sense of pride and camaraderie with the students. Our High School competition trips are typically three day trips that include hotel stays, on site rehearsals, workshops with clinicians, and competition time. The best part is that after all the hard work, the students get to enjoy tours, sightseeing and park time with their fellow musicians and friends. The trip ends with an award ceremony comprised of all the competing ensembles which is always a memorable experience! Fundraising is a huge part of making these annual trips a possibility for our students. We are always looking for parent volunteers to help with fundraiser efforts. We encourage all of our High School families to get involved to help make these trips a reality for our students.
Trips are planned and voted on by the parents and high school directors every winter for the following school year. We encourage parents to come to meetings to help plan for the next school year. Trip information, sign ups and payments dates are announced in September of each school year. For more information contact our Booster President at: [email protected] |
