Rules & Expectations:
Marching Band is open the face of the Visual & Performing Arts program, we must uphold our
image representing Caravel Academy. The rules & expectations listed below are both for your
safety and for the success of the ensemble.

Call Times:
Call Times indicate the time that you must be at a location, ready to go. If our practice Call Time
is 5:00, you must be on the field with your instrument in your hands, already warmed-up by
5:00 in the appropriate attire.

Attendance/ Transportation:
It is required that all members aPend ALL practices and ALL scheduled events. Failure to do so
may result in disciplinary actions. The band director must be notified in writing of all planned
absences at least two weeks from the scheduled event. Disciplinary actions may include sitting
out of a performance/ activity, or even expulsion from the group. To avoid consequences,
please review the schedule carefully. It is encouraged that general appointments and social
events be scheduled on non-band days. Students are responsible for finding transportation to
every rehearsal and event at Caravel Academy. Unless otherwise stated, students must take
the bus to and from all away-events. For safety purposes, students are not permitted to leave
early or be picked up without advanced noAce and written consent from a parent/ guardian.

Behavior:
Inappropriate behavior, language, bullying, hazing and/or harassment of any kind will not be
tolerated. Any instance of inappropriate behavior mentioned above will result in immediate
expulsion.

Attire:
Practices: Athletic Shoes must always be worn, no exceptions.
Performances: Unless otherwise stated, the marching uniform includes: Black Socks, Marching
Shoes, Show Shirt and Gloves (guard & wind players).
